Experience
I live in the Shoreline, WA area, located just outside of Seattle. I am a graduate of the University of Montana and University of Washington, Seattle Campus. I earned my doctorate degree in natural resource management (biometrics). I have been teaching mathematics and statistics courses for more than three decades. My educational and instructional background have afforded me the ability to tutor in multiple mathematics courses, statistics, economics, ecology, and environmental science courses. I am able to tutor courses in pre-algebra, algebra 1, graduate level statistics, biostatistics, environmental systems and societies, AP statistics, and AP environmental science. My philosophy is to provide practical application of the course concepts that will require students to ask real world questions and provide real world answers. This encourages growth of critical thinking and the ability to solve problems beyond the realms of education. Additionally, I am a retired firefighter with more than 29 years employment in the fire department, but I have found that sharing knowledge and the methods to obtain knowledge have become my professional passion. Outside of academia, I love taking my Harley on long trips, and I also enjoy car restoration. I am currently working on the restoration of a classic Mustang. Photography and outdoor sports are other activities I also enjoy.
