Music is powerful. It can connect people to each other and build a community of support. I've seen music impact people as my degree is in Music Therapy. Part of my education involved helping others achieve their goals through creative methods. I use this as part of my tutoring. I also work to find each student's strength and build on that. My tutoring has included those with disabilities, including autism. I work to focus on each small part of the overall difficult subject or concept. This helps manage the learning as well as make it enjoyable. I'll then customize the tutoring plans to creatively teach to a student's learning style. I find joy in watching my students finally understand. While my musical experience has focused on violin, I also play the guitar, piano, and ukulele. I've also used music to educate others on how it along with dance can be used to tell stories and empower others. I've also incorporated music as I work with Miriam's Circle International, which does case management work in Kenya.My tutoring focuses on math, ACT/SAT prep, physics, English, grammar, reading, writing, special education topics, and study skills. In my free time, I take dance classes, hike, spend time writing in my journal, read, swim, and Skype with others.
