English Teaching August 2010 – May 2013 I worked for several companies in China teaching students of all ages. My classes ranged from helping children with spoken English and assisting university students with the TESOL to helping company managers refine their pronunciation. I worked for an agency, so this also gave me experience at managing my schedule and being self motivated. Corporate Trainer August 2010 – May 2013 I taught at several large companies in Shanghai, training the Chinese staff in everyday and business English. This involved helping them prepare presentations, design projects and conduct negotiations in English. I also prepared people for business trips overseas. I used my experience to show them where they needed to improve, and also designed fun activities to keep them interested at the same time. Notable companies I taught at included Cisco, Ericsson and CBS. Tongji University March – July 2011 I taught an IELTS Oral English class at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. I prepared the students for going abroad to study in England and New Zealand. We reviewed their English lessons, practiced conversations, and I taught them about Western culture as well. Jaspers English School August 2009 – August 2010 I was an English teacher at Jaspers English School in Qingdao, China. My responsibilities were teaching over 400 different students in 30 classes who ranged from ages two to seventeen. I rotated among all the classes during the week, giving me greatly varied experience. In addition, I assisted the Chinese teachers with preparing their classes.
