A Washington State native, I grew up in a small town but have called Seattle home for the past three years. After finishing a year in AmeriCorps, I studied Linguistics and Human Rights at the University of Washington, where I engaged in mentorship with the Dream Project to assist low-income, first-generation students apply to college.I like to study languages, and have intermediate-level knowledge of Spanish and Arabic. I've done some living abroad in both Morocco and Palestine, where I have enjoyed learning more about the language and culture. When I have free time, I like to sing, play my guitar, and write songs and poetry. Music provides an excellent release to my busy life, and reminds me of the importance of self-expression!
