Experience
I love science and the intellectual joy that it brings. I believe that it is very important to get a firm of grip on the fundamental understanding of math and science. Doing so allows students to apply this understanding to multitude of future problems, not just the ones that a student learned how to do following certain steps (a cookie-cutter approach). I have mentored many students and find tutoring very rewarding, especially when you see how clear understanding of a difficult concept that you just explained to your student builds his or her confidence. Difficult concepts come to different students at varying pace and I respect that. I believe that if my student did not get the concept, it is because I did not clearly explain it. I often try different angles to explain difficult topics. I believe there no dumb questions and patience is key to tutoring. I have an in-depth understanding of high school and college level of mathematics, chemistry, biology and statistics. I spent over twenty years applying my skills in academic research labs in biology, chemistry and engineering. I am up to date on modern scientific concepts and technology and eager to transfer my knowledge to students. I love teaching and in addition to my long academic experience I have taught math and science to my kids since 2d grade.
